Re: [Hall Way: Delyth & Patrick]
Patrick smiled at her. In truth, he would grow out of nothing else for a most impressively long time. His people were most long lived, and they aged exceptionally slow upon reaching puberty. Before his most recent trip home, he had assumed his human physiology would balance out the elven genetics, at least to a certain point, but now he had no true idea of how he would age. He did not lament this terribly, but this conversation did make him lament the absence of his sister; he missed Con, though he knew she would be much happier away from Repose. "I believe I am done growing," he assured her with a wink. Patrick was a winker. This was something he did, and he paired it with a crooked grin.
"My girl, I am sorry about your marriage." He had not known she had been married, but knowing people on sight did not mean he was aware of town gossip; he did his best not to listen. But he did not need the details to know the end of any marriage would be challenging. This did not stem from any romanticism on his part, but rather on the understanding that people who became married went into the union expecting it to last. "Keeping busy probably helps?" He asked the question for the sake of it; distraction was a good balm for all wounds.
He nodded when she clarified about her mother. The nod was a respectful one, and he followed it up with a sweep of his arm, indicating she should lead the way to the coffee shop she mentioned. "It is still there. I came here weekly to a doctor for a time, and I often stopped for coffee after. I found it helpful to sit for a time before dealing with the return to Repose." He motioned back toward the potion shop as he walked slowly, long gait made more companionable. "What potions? I was here looking to see what they had for healing."
