Re: [Hall Way: Delyth & Patrick]
"I was much scrawnier a few years back," Patrick said good-naturely, and it was a true statement, man. He had played many sports in high school, but he had always had trouble keeping weight on his tall frame, and he was just not a dude for bulking up. Con had been much older, a surrogate mother in every possible way, and she had attempted to feed him out of his skinny phase, but he suspected this was just genetics.
He too moved out of the way. "What keeps you in town?" Not that this was town. The Hall Way was removed, but he assumed it was obvious he was asking her about her return to Repose. Man, Repose was the type of town that either drew you back, or that you ran from as quickly as you could manage, never to return. He was obviously the former, as, it seemed, was she.
"I believe the family that owned the B&B sold it, and I have heard nothing good since then." He lamented that. He had considered taking the place over, since his sister had put so much into it, but he thought taking care of an old boarding house full of people would drive him most insane. "I do know the first floor still serves as the town's version of a nursing home, but more than that I do not know." His voice was heavy as he made this admission; he had a healthy amount of guilt brewing. "I might suggest my bro take over," he said, and it was merely a musing, but it was not a bad one. It might keep Adrian out of trouble.
He shook his head. "I have not been in the shop. I was out of town myself, traveling," he said vaguely, "and have only just returned home. I've wandered Main a few times in recent days, but I haven't paid my respects anywhere. Are you enjoying the return?" And, of course, "I am sorry about your mother."
