Re: [Recovery: Marta & Hannah]
At this point, Marta had just about given up on someone coming to visit her. She hadn’t forgotten about Hannah saying she’d come to see her, but enough time had passed that she figured Hannah had changed her mind. Or not actually meant it in the first place. Even though Hannah didn’t really seem like someone that would do that. In the short time they’d known each other, Hannah had seemed to have almost no deception to her. From what Marta could tell, Hannah meant the things she said. It was almost refreshing, when nearly everyone else she’d ever known seemed to have some sort of secret.
So it wasn’t that she expected Hannah to have lied about it, just that Marta maybe had a hard time believing the other woman had meant it in the first place. But when she appeared, even though it was with barely a sound, she was so much more solid than those passing hallucinations had been, and a lot nicer. Even so, it took Marta a long moment before she actually reacted.
Her responding greeting was a smile and a little lift of her hand - easy en ought for her to do, and easy enough to understand. If she looked smaller to Hannah, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to her. She felt smaller. She felt, if she were being honest, a lot like she had when she was much younger. The clothing that she wore was oversized enough to be comfortable, layered because she was still dealing with being cold most of the time. No makeup, her own hair pulled back as well, but the shadowed circles that had been so at home beneath her eyes for so long were beginning to fade as she got more sleep. And with a nutritionist regulating her meals, she was beginning to put on weight again, adding a growing healthy curve to her cheeks instead of hollows.
With a more complicated question, Marta twisted herself enough to grab her tablet off the table. Typing carefully for a moment, she was slow enough to hit the correct keys most of the time and not require too much backspacing.
