He'd always enjoyed romantic comedies, musicals, but working on the film had been a stretch of his acting wings that had been good. Shakespeare was always a stretch that was good, and even if he had the projects that attracted him because they were the sort of thing he liked, working on ones that were different - good - things that other people enjoyed - that could still be really valuable. He considered the man in front of him, filling in what he knew of the book that he'd read thus far, what he knew of the shows they'd talked about liking, and he tilted his head curious. "What is your version of escape? If you have one? The thing you always turn to when you're down? What cheers you up?"
Hugh took the opportunity to look as Theodore rubbed his beard. Maybe distinguished would require more beard trimming, but so far as Hugh was concerned Theodore was an attractive man. He smiled, and nodded, reaching for his coffee. "It's a good look. Rugged, world traveler, and with the actual world travel to back it all up so it's not false advertising." He took a sip, still half watching over the edge of the cup before he sat it back down.
"I admit, that there's a part of me that really likes the idea of beach resorts with fruity drinks, but I think not exclusively. I mean, the world is so vast, and there's so much out there, why just see what you could see here if you travel it? And there's a place maybe for relaxation on a Instagram worthy beach, but that's different than saying you've traveled, I think?" It was largely academic, because it occurred to him that they'd never really traveled much. "But I've only been outside the country to go to Canada, and only then because we could easily drive to Vancouver, or take the ferry to Victoria. I went to New York City a few times in college, and the same with San Francisco. My father, the one I grew up with anyway, traveled for business sometimes, usually to Asia, but he never took us with him. The handful of times we managed to have a family vacation, it was usually California. So I have no experience at all, really. It just feels like if you're traveling, one should experience that place."
