Re: [Diner: Aleksi, Hannah, Si]
Hannah was quiet a few minutes after the arrival of pancakes, after both men gave their advice. She was quiet as she thoughtfully dipped her bacon in syrup, and she was quiet as she carefully tore off a piece of pancake and tucked it between her lips. She'd always eaten pancakes with her fingertips, ever since she was small, and she'd never, ever stopped. Okay, no, she hadn't done it when she was with Marcus or his family, but otherwise, and she let the silence span and spread. It wasn't that she meant it to be awkward, the pause, but she was thinking over everything they'd said, taking everything into consideration, and she ultimately nodded. "Okay. Si thinks no, and Rabbit thinks it might not go well," she said, as if she was thinking about the men without them being present. "So it's better to not," she concluded with a little nod and a reach of sticky fingers for her coffee cup to take a sip.
She turned the cup in her hand, just as she'd always, always done with her cup of stars, and she sipped, and then she put the cup down again.
"I'll visit her," she said, "but I won't message him." It felt like the right choice in her marrow, deep down in her belly where intuition lived. It was the right choice, and she shifted to cross one leg beneath herself. "Rabbit has a wonderful boyfriend, and a wonderful relationship," she told Si with a smile. "He hasn't been in town very long," she added, as if those two things explained all the really important things.
