Re: [Diner: Aleksi, Hannah, Si]
Si wasn't hungry, really. He didn't eat much most of the time, his appetite dulled to something nearing nonexistent most days. But, he planned on taking a few bites, just so Amy wouldn't worry and because they had come to the diner. If he was paying for food, he might as well eat a little of it. When his own plate of steaming pancakes arrived, he looked down at it. He used a fork to tear off a piece, scraping toward himself, without the assistance of a fork, and he picked it up and ate it from there. Si leaned away from his sister a little, so he could prop his weight on his other elbow. He rubbed at the back of his neck as beside him Amy talked.
Looking up a little, Si watched her reach out with syrupy fingers to take hold of Aleksi's again for a squeeze of sympathy. He glanced up, chin still tucked down, to look at the other man's face as his family was mentioned. Si turned his gaze back to his pancakes, stabbing his fork back in as he thought. He scratched his fingers up through the shorn hair on the back of his skull, then said, for the third time, looking between the both of them: "Yeah. It's a bad idea."
