Re: [Diner: Aleksi, Hannah, Si]
Hannah nudged at Si's side when he sat, and she tried to look at Rabbit over the menu that Si deliberately used to block her view, but she was really, really glad when Si reached out and shook Rabbit's hand. She was a little worried since dinner with Hugh and Jamie, and that had been really bad all around. But there were no secrets here, and she really believed Si and Rabbit would like each other. And it made her feel better in this weird, weird and maybe a little morose way, but if they liked each other then she could believe they would be okay if there was no her. And no one liked to talk about that, but Hannah knew it to be a real possibility. She could get reprogrammed or dismantled, and it was a terrible, terrible thought. She wanted her people to have as many people of their own as possible as a result.
But that was a momentary blip-blip of a thought, there and gone and she was peering over the menu until she finally nudged it down. "I'm not good at decisions, and I'm not sure Si is good at advice, so maybe between the three of us we can decide something," she said cheerily, and she smiled over at the approaching waitress a moment later. "Pancakes. And bacon. And lots of syrup," she told her, not missing a beat at all, and not needing the stolen menu, so, take that, Si, and returning quickly to her advice request. "I have a friend who gave up her baby and is in a hospital kind of, and I asked if I should check on the dad, but she said no, but I think she actually wants me to? Is it meddling? Would you want to be checked on by a stranger?" she asked, glancing from one of them to the other as she lowered her leg and leaned back against Si's arm. Si took up a lot of space, and so did Rabbit, and she felt really small there and in that booth.
