Re: Lakeside:Theodore/Hugh
"She's going to be thrilled," Theodore decided, and tilted his glass toward Hugh's in toast before finishing the last of his wine. "And, she's going to love Heart. I've been pondering whether or not I might get her some sort of pet when she graduates, but it's hard to commit to something when she cannot seem to commit to her own plans, once she's done with school." Elaine was brilliant, but indecisive. She wanted to play Quidditch professionally, one day, and the next it was university, and then the third, joining the Peace Corps. Theodore would support whatever she did, if she actually decided on anything to do. But then, he would support that, as well.
"I think Shakespeare knew what he was about," Theodore considered, looking out toward the lake, considering. "'There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy,' is - I think - how the line goes." He turned back to Hugh. "You're the actor; you'd have to tell me. But, it sounds as if you've experienced some of those things for yourself, and I can't discount those experiences, as I'm not the one who had them, and you seem to me to be an honest man." He nodded, once. "Or at least, one with no reason to lie about this. And I certainly don't think you're crazy. Because yes, I've seen my share of the inexplicable. And then some. The world is full of mystery, Hugh. Sometimes, there is even a reason behind it."
