Re: trailer park: alex and mal
Mal sifted through the bills a little with his fingers and sure enough, there were the larger bills. His brow raised a centimeter or two. "Possibly," he said. He rocked back on his heels, and he considered what to say.
He didn't want to push Alex in a direction that would get him in trouble, or, worse, locked in prison. At the same time, however, who knew where the money had come from? "They would look for the person responsible, but they'll be looking for that person right now," he reasoned. "This is a small town. I strongly suspect that if they get back what was taken, the matter will end there." He looked from the jar to Alex's face. "Or you can keep it," he said. Hew kept his tone neutral. He knew Alex had good reason not to part ways with this money, aside from any potential repercussions.
