Re: trailer park: alex and mal
Mal wasn't always the best with people - he had an edge that those who tried his patience saw the brunt of. There was nothing about Alex that begged for harshness, though - on the contrary, it felt like a crime not to be decent to somebody who seemed kind of vulnerable. He didn't like seeing his smile falter, and, to be fair, if anyone started leaving items in his workshop while he was sleeping he would have started to unhinge a bit. "I technically do, but no car right now." There had been cars, but they had all been stolen, naturally. "Let's walk."
He didn't quite catch Alex leaning into him. He only noticed anything when the other man fell away from him again. He looked up, clocking his movement with long, paranoid practice. Nice Alex might be, but it was a reminder that Mal needed to be more on his toes. Repose was nice, but there were still people out there - one in particular - who would have been delighted to find him walking down a dark street unarmed. "Are you feeling all right?"
