Bus stop: Misha & Lou
Misha, he spent a whole lot of time in the Capital recent. Not in the apartment he and Damian had there, and he couldn't remember the last time they'd gone, but at school, at hospitals and orphanages, at the cemeteries and the churches. It wasn't that Repose didn't suit, but Misha liked bustle real well and he always had, and the Capital had plenty. It was convenient for him, seeing as he didn't never need to catch a bus if he didn't want to, but sometimes he did use public transportation, and just to feel normal. It was soothing some, an hour in the swaying bus. He usually went went Janus drove, since he knew Janus would let him sit behind the driver's seat and kick his feet, and it was nice to fall asleep with his jacket rolled 'gainst the window.
Tonight, it was one of those nights when he'd been at school. There were rehearsals for an upcoming production of Evita, and Misha had missed auditions for a real role, but they took him plenty quick into the chorus, and he liked the real buzzy energy of rehearsal nights. They made him feel real grounded, feet placed firm on earth and nothing of Heaven or Hell inside him. That feeling, carrying it on along, it was the reason he'd decided to take the bus 'stead of blinking home.
Jeering, slurs, they weren't nothing new for Misha, and they sure weren't nothing new for the Capital. The place was near big as New York, where Misha had hid on coming down from Heaven, and big cities always had that sort of thing. He also reckoned the Capital savored some of Vegas, with its promiscuity in the Red Light District, and the whippet-thin blond approaching the bus stop dressed always expected trouble when he walked 'round, even in a big city like the Capital. Course, his unconventional clothing didn't help, and he had colorful backpack hanging off one shoulder, fiddle case in his hand.
Point was, he didn't walk on by. He lowered himself down on the bench 'neath the Stop's shelter, and he looked on over at the woman. He was real sure he'd seen her 'round town, and he spent a few seconds looking over her light, which would give him the basics 'bout how she felt just now. He smiled, real warm. "Headed to Repose?" he asked, the voice of knowing.
