Mason could always be counted on for sarcasm and a scathing wit. It was a talent he'd perfected since puberty. His parents had made the attempt to eliminate it from his personality, but the more they had tried the deeper it took root. Anyone who appreciated it was either mentally disturbed or a friend in sarcasm themselves.
Oh yes. Mason recognized that tone of voice having heard it come from his own lips. New York had been quite memorable. "Everyone learns better sooner or later." A drink. "The time it takes is measured in tears."
Then he rolled his eyes so hard they might have sprained something. "Lord that was so maudlin it was cliche. Apologies."
