Re: [Dream Training]
Hannah watched Arthur work. She watched the needles and the tubing, and she watched it all with curious, curious gaze. She wanted very badly to understand, and it was as if she believed there was some secret in the coiling of tubing and the disposal of needles.
She glanced over at Eames when Arthur said he was scared a lot, and she didn't believe it was true. She was pretty sure this was just more of them bantering, and she thought maybe it was a comfortable way for them to deal with really scary things on a regular basis. Which took her back to Arthur's comment about there never being a 'from scratch,' and she considered that and turned it over and over in her mind. "I want to know how to create things consciously," she said plainly, because she was like that and plain spoken about things, despite all the whimsical turns her language took. "But I don't think I did anything scary." Here, she glanced at Eames. "There were things in here, in the lab, and back where we were, but I really don't know what they were or where they came from. I've never seen them before," she explained, and she was being really earnest.
She looked from man to man, and she wondered how much she should say, but she really, really needed to learn how to do this. The alternative was to be returned to CARNEM, and she really didn't want to be returned to a company that made prosthesis; that thought terrified her. "The only thing I ever see while I'm asleep is a ghost, but I've always seen her, and I can never move when I see her and I'm asleep, so it wasn't her."
