"Okay," Vaughn nodded. So demon cats had gender. That was something new. He wouldn't have imagined that was a thing. But at least he knew what to refer to him as. And no, Vaughn wasn't shaking in his boots, but that was really because he had no choice but to keep a cool head and keep driving. If Mao wanted to eat him then he was absolutely going to, and there wasn't anything he could do about it now.
He snorted. "I do not want to be Sabrina. I had enough drama as a teenage boy, I don't need to go through extra drama as a girl. So you can cross Sailormoon out, too. Although-" Vaughn tipped his head with some consideration. "Kiki the witch...what was her cat called? He talked, too." He frowned, that was going to bug him.
Sure, it was risque (and Vaughn was never, ever going to tell anyone he was amusing himself by flirting with his cat) but he liked the sass he got, he liked how easy it was to make implications. Comfortable. Shit, he found it comfortable to tease a demon cat.
He didn't get a reply to his question about whether or not Mao knew of (or indeed was, as Vaughn had now concluded, because he wasn't just a pretty face) kasha, but he wasn't going to press that subject if it wasn't going to be too well received.
Groovy. Vaughn laughed. "Ah, there's something kinda cute about you. I'm sure you use that to your advantage, don't you? Seduce people into doing whatever you want. Feeding you bits of people, giving you somewhere new to sleep. A few pretty words." He rolled his eyes. "We're nearly back. Is there anything I might have that could hurt you? I can go ahead and...hide it in a cupboard or something?" He had no idea what. Silver? Roses? His soap? "I park round the back so you can stay in your current form, if you want? No one will be looking, the store I live above will be closed." He didn't know how much energy it took for Ash to change each time.
