There was one thing about her chatty ways. It hid the fierce intelligence she possessed. From the moment she sat down she'd been assessing Aleksi. Pippin adored Dietre. He'd managed to become someone she was very protective about. But that also meant giving Aleksi a chance. Dietre obviously liked him, and she wanted him to be happy.
"Can I call you Alex?" she asked in a cheeky tone. She didn't mean it which she made obvious with a wink as she shook his hand. "Nice to meet you, too." That she meant.
Dietre earned himself a fond smile from her. She never would have thought that had been him in murder dreamland, but it didn't change her opinion of her. It just made her want to take care of him even more...and maybe think things about the people that hurt him that would make her family priest faint dead away.
"Pepperoni is perfect," she replied. "Especially since it will be fresh instead of an unknown number of days old." She had a reputation for getting lost in her work and not looking at expiration dates. Words to action she ordered a large pie and a pitcher of beer but left it open if the boys wanted something different.
"So..." she started after the waitress left, "...tell me everything. After the Jeremiah fiasco I'm living vicariously through everyone else's sappy happy."
