For other people going out for pizza with their significant other and a friend was something they took for granted. Not so for Dietre, doing this made him feel so wonderfully, amazingly normal that there would be no way for him to express it in words. A simple outing like this was something he hadn’t thought possible, but look at him now! He was excited, and for once, optimistic. He was confident Pippin and Aleksi would love each other, and the thought of them becoming friends pleased him to no end.
Upon arriving, Dietre had no qualms about taking the window seat. The fact that Aleksi was purposefully acting as a shield escaped him, but he was grateful nonetheless. New places made him nervous. It did not bother him that he had to crane his neck to peek over Aleksi’s head to look for Pippin. Doing so was an excuse to lean close, to have their shoulders touch.
It was not long before he spotted the familiar banner or red hair. “Oh, there she is-- Aleksi, wave to her.” Dietre had lifted his hand, but he couldn’t tell if he could be seen from behind the werewolf, so he had no choice but to enlist Aleksi to beckon her over.
