Re: Hannah & Jeremiah; Jester's Court
He stepped out of the carriage, feet landing solidly on the wooden platform of the Ferris Wheel, and it was solid, steady as the Ferris Wheel itself had been, and without the shadow or the run down pieces that maybe it should hold. Jeremiah didn't stop to question this, instead he simply followed her. One leather loafer stepped off onto the ground and then the next, and then he was running towards the castle, after Hannah, who hadn't waited for him, who was perhaps smiling, who had listened and still invited him to stay, and he felt lighter than he'd felt in weeks, months maybe.
"You gave yourself an unfair advantage," he called as he ran towards her, creeping up behind her as they reached the castle. It was not the Beast's castle, pulling Belle into it, although perhaps there were shadows that certainly suggested that it easily could be, but his focus was only on her, and she was clear and bright and very, very real in his arms as he slipped up behind her, drawing his arms around her waist to pull her into an embrace. "This was not a fair win," he laughed in her ear before dropping a kiss to her neck. "Do you think we can go up?"
He glanced up into the inside of the castle. There were towers, he wanted to find them, to look out and survey the kingdom they'd decided to claim. Perhaps the inside wouldn't be nearly as beautiful as he was hoping, but he wanted to pretend it would be, and in this night when shadows had come out and were circulating through the castle around them, maybe it could be.
The confession had been given to Hannah, and she could carry it for him, and he trusted her to do this for the rest of the night, and maybe into the future, and perhaps he was lighter for having given this over to her, and his embrace was infused with unspoken gratitude.
His eyes saw what appeared to be a gate in the far corner, and he slipped fingers to her hand. "Come, Hannah, let's see if we can climb."
