Re: Visiting the Hospital
Sam clung to Iris, yeah? She was the first person she saw after things, and that had something to do with it, sure, but she missed her family. She clung, and she sobbed, but she swallowed the sound back hard and fast. By the time Cris came down, she was barely hiccuping, and she hugged Lou back weak, but tight, and then she sat and leaned into Cris' touch at her nape. And she was glad, yeah? That everyone was buying that she was ok. She SUCKED at lying, at hiding shit, and normally people called her out on it. But maybe it wasn't so surprising, because the only person here she'd see often - besides Cris - was Daniel, and it had even been a while with him.
So, yeah, she watched as Lou and Cris talked, and she squeezed Daniel's arm when he sat beside her. She didn't know he was having trouble with the blood on Cris' bandage, but she wasn't surprised to see him looking peaked or whatever. Daniel, she knew, HATED hospitals. "You ok?" she asked quiet, like his discomfort was more important than her own squirming in the waiting-room chair.
But, right, the baby, and she didn't have a good answer, not one that sounded pretty or whatever. She hadn't even held the kid yet, yeah? And a few seconds through a pane of glass wasn't exactly informative. She glanced at Cris, knowing it would sound hella weird if she DIDN'T know how the baby was, and then she rolled the dice. It had worked before, yeah? With her smile.
"She's good. Eating, yeah? She eats good. She's good." She grinned social. "How was the drive or whatever? Not too bad?"
