Re: Visiting the Hospital
Louis was actually aware that it might not be the best of ideas to bring Daniel into a hospital, but he trusted him. However old he was, he was old enough to know his limits - Louis had experienced that firsthand. Still, he had watched him during the car ride, glancing over to see if he was alright as he sat, wound and tense, for the hour it took to get there. He would have been perfectly willing to chat during the ride, nervous as he was, but Iris was buried in a book and Daniel was busy being fretful, so he turned on NPR instead.
The receptionist provided a room number, and Louis scribbled it down on a sheet of paper, tucking it in his pocket. No doubt Cris would be down momentarily to meet them, but in case he'd missed Louis' message, they could go themselves. "Cris should be coming," he said, in soothing tones. Iris didn't look happy, and Daniel was nervous, and they were here to see a baby, so smiles, everyone.
