Re: Dinner: Athelstan and Ragnar
"Your Gods give favor where they wish," Athelstan said quietly. They could curse a man, as Ragnar was, but others could give a boon, like the one he met in the forest. "Was it prophecy or do you think she had something to do with my coming here?" He wondered aloud.
He laughed and shook his head. That first invitation had come from the both of them, and Athelstan was not sure that he considered that sharing, if it would be the three of them. "You don't need me to explain how to lay with someone," he teased.
He watched, the corners of his mouth still curved upwards as Ragnar gathered himself and their plates. "I would like that," he said quietly, both about his own room and Ragnar's. "It'll be good to be under the same roof as you again," he added. "Though I'm surprised that dessert doesn't involve honey." It was the only sweet thing they'd had then, beyond fruit. Chocolate was centuries away. And now, centuries in the past.
