Dinner: Athelstan and Ragnar
'Stan was on his feet immediately, yapping as he scampered through the house to the front door. Ragnar followed slowly, as though he somehow had time to perfect anything that wasn't already in place. He didn't.
He opened the door as though he was almost unsure that Athelstan would be on the other side. As though maybe he had been hallucinating the whole thing.
"Hello," Ragnar smiled brightly at the vision on his doorstep, his fingers already hooked through 'Stan's collar to stop him from jumping up, though his tail was smacking hard against his calves. "He will not hurt you. Come in-" he stepped aside to let Athelstan in. His puppy snuffled around their guest as Ragnar closed the door, and then gently pulled Athelstan into a hug. "I'm glad you could make it. Please, come through-"
He lead Athelstan by the hand through to the lounge that flowed through to the kitchen, where the first course was cooking. "Can I get you a drink? I have most things. Wine?" Ragnar let go of the other's hand, gesturing for him to take whichever seat he wanted. 'Stan went to sit at Athelstan's feet, tail still wagging.
"It is three courses, I hope you enjoy it. I have kind of tried it out, but I can make you something else if you'd rather-" Ragnar continued nervously as he found glasses for them both, and poured himself a white wine. He could hold his alcohol, it was more for soothing his nerves than to get drunk.
