Mini-log, the B&B: Clementine M/Reece E
Who: Clementine Murphy & Reece Eos
What: a brief run-in
Where: The B&B
When: after this
Warnings/Rating: not much
After and/or during an inspiring conversation with his Hero, Reece was ...well, he was inspired. He was inspired into action! And it was no big deal, right? To break into a room? The room had belonged to a colleague, and said colleague did have pertinent, confidential research on his computer, which he kept in said room. It wasn't exactly breaking in, was--was it? It was more like retrieval. Reece was retrieving information for his Hero—and his Hero was depending on him. He couldn't let him down. God, no. He wouldn't be able to live with himself.
He needed to prove his competence. Plus, the (awesome, cool) man was right—Reece had his eye. The room, he could tell from a glance, was unlocked, likely for cleaning,—another sweep over the space that came up highlighted told him it was empty. Now was his chance. To do something totally legal and not at all nefarious. Or, um, if it was nefarious, it was... at least it was for a good cause. They needed the research for the Project, and being set back would only harm everyone involved.
So, right. Necessary. He was in his pajamas (yes, they were monogrammed), slippers shuffing quiet over old wood in the corridor, and he figured he could always say he was just after... more shampoo or... something, if someone caught him out. Flawless plan.—Metal fingers were quiet on the doorknob, grip over-gentle, and Reece clenched his teeth together anticipatory, as oiled hinges swung old oak back to reveal the room.
There was no scream of metal. No one shot him or anything. He exhaled in relief.
That wasn't so bad. So far, so good.
