Re: Webster's: Holly & Elijah
For Holly, life was background noise. He always had something going, be it music or thoughts that whirred too fast for him to always follow. The television had been a constant in childhood, and now there was always something illuminating his laptop screen, day or night. He got curiosity, and he got the need to have music. He just wasn't way curious about other people's tastes or motivations. He wasn't apologetic about that, either, and so he just counted, closed out the till and waited for the guy with the beard to offer something up. He kinda thought maybe this guy was out here just looking for someone to interact with, in which case Noah or Gramps would be better options. Holly just wasn't a 'reach out and become your friend' kinda guy.
"It's a good town for not doing crowds," Holly finally added, finishing up his tallies, about Repose. It was small, right? There were never crowds. Everyone knew everything about everyone, but there were never crowds. Daily, people wandered in and asked, casually, about Bea, about where he'd been, about Gramps, about the military, but they didn't all come together in droves or anything. And Holly was always open late, since Gramps didn't want people in the shop early. So, anyway, this whole thing was no big thing to Holly.
He did crack a small smile at Elijah's reaction to the song. "Great, right?"
