Re: Ren S. & open
Adrian wasn't actually expecting Ren to give him the full approach. Things were awkward in his own head, but maybe that was the only place it lived. Resentment, too, curdled in him a little. He did his best to be understanding, and put on a happy face, and Ren's compliment for the costumes earned a more real smile. "Thank the thrift stores in this town ," he said, "And people who don't appreciate vintage."
Adrian was different than he had been in the brief period he and Ren had been hooking up. He held himself differently, spoke more casually, and was, if not apparently happier, less stiff. He had noticed Ren behaving differently too, especially toward the back half of the play. "Pretty good," he said. He wouldn't go any further. Not today. Maybe some other time, though, if they got to properly talking again. It would be nice to reclaim a relationship rather than lose one, for a change. He was on a hell of a streak. "You seemed like you were kind of going through it at the end there, if you don't mind me saying."
