log: leo/charlie go explore a dead dudes house
Who: Leo Bancroft & Charlie Powell
Where: the Bancroft mansion
What: exploring Leo's dad's house
When: Nowish
Warnings: will update if needed
Leo picked Charlie up after dinner. Right now he was driving a shitty sedan that was going to rust out after this winter thanks to all the salt they put on the roads. He didn't flaunt his wealth and earnestly tried to make people think he didn't have anything left from his childhood fame. The truth was, he had boatloads of it. His dad saved and Leo didn't spend money on shit, so it was just figurative piles of it waiting to be burned or donated to some charity once Leo was dead. Anyway, to Repose he just looked like some other loser who wandered into town and didn't have much of a direction in life. This was a shield, an easy out if he really fucked something up.
All that considered, he was feeling sentimental tonight. He didn't like going to his dad's old mansion alone and he knew Charlie would love it. The place was full of weird stuff; trap doors, possibly haunted hallways. It was a glimpse into who he actually was under the scowl and the edgelord beanie. So if she decided she hated it, at least they'd get it out of the way now before he felt things...or whatever.
On the way there, he chatted with her about the play and talked about all the dumb stuff happening at the coffee shop. Really easy stuff over the murmur of the radio. At first they were going down the highway towards the destination, but then he took a turn, then another, then another until they were in the middle of some forest in the middle of nowhere. Eventually, the impossibly tall roofline of the mansion could be seen, the trees cleared and the eerie looking castle loomed in front of them. It looked like it was built by someone who really liked the Victorian era and maybe dabbled in steampunk appreciation. Even the front gates were brass.
Leo rolled down the window to punch in a security code and the gates creaked open.
"Home sweet home." He said as they drove to park right in front of the place. "Uh, so house rules. Touch whatever you want, if you see something you like just ask and you can probably have it and don't point out cute pictures of me as a child."
