Re: log: louis & ren - diner
Louis had been braced for Ren to be angry with him. Truthfully, he hadn't been on the side that broke up with someone very often. This wasn't really the first time, but it might be the first time he'd sat down and had a proper conversation about it, rather than being let down himself, gently or not so gently, or ending things with a fight, or with a lack of contact that made it clear all was over.
He had never sat across from someone and told them they weren't together anymore. He expected anger, but he'd also never seen Ren angry. They'd never fought about anything. Perhaps they hadn't ever talked about anything tricky enough to spark one.
That tight smile was what he disliked most of all, and he was tempted, momentarily, to tell Ren to drop it. He didn't. He met his gaze, instead. He wasn't smiling anymore, just regarding him. "It means that...at some point, when you feel comfortable, we can still talk, and spend time together. Because I do like you." He smiled then, just a little, sadly. "You're an easy person to like."
