log: louis & ren - diner
Ren chuckled at that, wondering which of the seasons was the most likely to bully. He suspected it was fall and winter, or maybe that was just an outlying of all of the holidays, the emotional expectations that came along with them, and everything else. "I'll keep that in mind," he told Louis wryly. "And have pumpkin anytime I want. After all, preserving pumpkin was probably made to allow us to have it throughout the year."
He gave the waitress his order, and then as she walked away again, he reached for the coffee as his gaze shifted to Louis more fully. He supposed with the mechanics of the meal complete - after all they were only likely to be interrupted again by the arrival of food, and queries about the refilling of coffee - it was time to move forward into wherever this conversation would lead. The question was whether he wanted to directly point it there, or let Louis take his time and set the pace.
"Well," he started, realizing even as he did that he should have given himself a moment more because he didn't have something to follow up with. He took another sip of coffee, sat it down and shrugged. "I'd like to think that if I took over the world, it'd be a nice one. Even if I rather suspect that alternate me was a bit of a bully. I'd need my second in commands and all that. I feel as if you'd be a good one - thoughtful and likely to pull me back in when necessary."
