Re: [Hall Way: Patrick & Newt]
This was definitely a different type of environment, man. It was not like Arborlon's peacefulness, but there was something communal to it that did remind Patrick of being in his world. It was not that the human world was not busy and populated, but there was a different feel to it, dude, and Patrick was not a smart enough dude be able to explain how or why. He would have liked to show Con, but he had yet to be able to entice her to come here or to go home with him, but he thought she would like this place where nothing remained still. There was life to even the most common things, and it was somewhat fascinating. Also, Patrick was not concerned with his tree being stolen. It would inform him if it was being made off with.
It was a good thing that he was not concerned about the tree, because the dude was paying it no mind. He was watching Newt attempt to deal with a circle of adoring fans, and this was something so unexpected to Patrick. He was aware his dude was good looking, and he had informed Newt that he (Newt) underestimated his appeal, but this situation was on a level he had not anticipated. Pushing through the crowd, Patrick did not feel jealous; the dude felt most proud.
He approached in time to hear Newt apologize most Britishly, and the touch to nape and collar was most intimate for Patrick, especially in a public place. The whisper just took it to another level, but the dude felt more at ease here than he did in Repose. No one here had known him for the entirety of his life. No one knew his sis here, and no one had known Webster's crazy. Here he was no one, and somehow it felt safer to be himself when he was no one. He was not thinking of these things, precisely, but they were true all the same. Instead, he was watching as Newt cleared his throat and attempted to disentangle himself from his adoring fans.
When Newt (finally) lost his patience, Patrick grinned a most entertained grin. He allowed Newt to push him, and (should Newt look at him) he looked thoroughly tickled at being ordered around by the other dude. Newt was much bossier than Patrick believed Newt realized he was, man, and he found it most charming. He was about to make a comment about hitting on his tree, but Newt took his hand (which made Patrick momentarily speechless) and then they were elsewhere.
Elsewhere being down the street (as far as Patrick could tell).
He took the tree when it was passed off to him, and he watched as Newt pushed a hand through ginger fringe. He gave the dude a moment to collect himself. He leaned back against the building behind him, tree in his arms and shoulders to the old and craggy wall. His expression was fond in the face of Newt's exasperation. "You did not tell me that my boyfriend had become a celebrity, dude. I feel certain this is something I should have been told," he said, Gunster smirk-smile firmly in place and digging a crescent moon in one golden cheek.
