"It is," he said quietly and nodded to being reassured. "You didn't have to, I trust you." Trusted that he wouldn't tell anyone, as he gave his word. Perhaps that was a bit naive, a bit trusting, but he still believed when people said they would do something.
When Archie came over, he glanced up and took the cup with a little thankful bob of his head. "Yeah, the postcards weren't bad." It wasn't like the events, even if barely contacted the person that had been his. Such was life sometimes.
He made a quiet noise in the back of his throat and took a sip of his coffee. "I'm not a priest. And I'm not -- not a predator." Which was what he had been, a priest preying on his own congregation, using them to fill something empty within himself.
"I'm glad you don't. What I -- what I didn't enjoy had nothing to do with you, Archie. You should know that."
