Wrap up: Spin me right round/Rocking
Who: Spin me right round / Rocking
Warnings: Probably none.
He was a reader, absolutely. Even as the sun started to come off and glint off her sly-smiling lips, he was still reading her. Did he crack the spine? No, he knew that she didn't like his hands on the cover of her book, nevermind his hands actually on her.
In the deepest parts of night and the brightest part of day, he still wasn't that kind of asshole. But the gaze did turn a bit more inward, and he kept glancing towards the East where the sky was turning light. It turned the color of the coin in his hands gold too, and he slipped it back into his pocket. He didn't make crossroads deals with people, and that's what this was, regardless of the fact that they weren't on a fucking crossroads.
This wasn't -- he shouldn't be here, and that knowledge was written in the ease of the smile off his face. It had nothing to do with her. "I believe that's the clock striking midnight," he said quietly, as though he, or she, was Cinderella, and in danger of all the magic disappearing. Perhaps that was more than apt as he sprung from the cart and landed with a soft whump on the grass beside the path.
There was only a momentary pause, where he held a less meaty hand to her, in the event she wanted it.
