Re: In the woods: Iris / Manning
[If she would have noticed him having to brace himself a little to keep the both of them upright, she would have likely been embarrassed and a little horrified. Her mind was clearer and happier than she used to be, but the insidious words from her upbringing still sometimes slipped through. And the comments about looks and weight were the first to reappear. But thankfully, she hadn't caught his shift of weight, so none of that had to be addressed in the quiet moment.
Her quiet laugh matched his own, and she tipped her head to rest on his shoulder.] Maybe you helped just a little with the former. [A smile and a soft sigh.] And maybe you helped with the latter too. I couldn't do it on my own.
[By the time he made the comment about their youngest's name, she only smiled into the kiss and leaned into it. Amazingly, she'd almost forgotten about his lack of clothing as well - or at least she had until her hands came up to brace lightly against the lower curve of his ribs (so that she didn't completely lose her balance when she had to go up onto her toes to reach the kiss) and her fingertips encountered only warm skin. And her reaction to that? A very soft hum into their kiss.]
