Re: Bookstore: Caleb R/Dietre A
None of the tables were truly private, but this one was mostly empty, except for one girl on her cell phone that barely looked up at either one of them as they sat down. And for some people that was better. Safer. Meetings arranged in public places with other people around -- much like they had for a first time meeting.
Though, hopefully, not a last, seeing as how they were talking about him coming to listen to Dietre play.
For all that he struggled first talking to people, once the connection was made, it was easier. Like this. Though he could hear Dietre's nervousness in that little stutter, and leaned slightly closer. "I --," he laughed a little. "I'm a fan of Moonlight Sonata. Don't laugh, I feel like it's a bit predictable, you know? Um, I don't like Chopin Nocturne, only -- only because I heard it a lot as a child and --" he shook his head. "Bad memories. But I also really like Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin, do you know that one?" He paused, legs straightening out under the table. "And if you have any favorites, I'd like to hear them as well. I'm never going to say no to hearing new music."
Plus, it meant hearing something that Dietre liked too, and that'd be good. Really good. "I'm uh, I'm curious to see what you'll pick out. We're drawn to things that mean something to us."
