It was impossible in the face of a young woman who was so full of enthusiasm for what she did here, and at the carnival to not smile in return. While Jeremiah might have been moody of recent, and not really spent much time talking to anyone, the conversation had left him a little refreshed, rather than feeling off-centered or wrong footed, and so he nodded at her comment, and he stepped back, listening, as a few others also paused nearby.
It wasn't a song he knew at all, but it was cheerful, and it made him want to dance a bit. But this wasn't really the place, and he didn't want to draw that much attention to himself, so he tapped his toes on the pavement for a moment, and as the song started to come to a close he gave her a nod.
"I'll see you at the carnival maybe," he told her as he made his farewell.
