Re: log: adrian/wren - adrian's house
Adrian wondered half a dozen things about Wren again, then let them go. If he was too eager to ask questions, he was bound to scare him off again. He needed to get comfortable with the idea that just having a meal with him was a step in the right direction.
He fetched Wren a glass of water from the purifier tap, and slid it across to him. "You met some more friends?" he asked, pivoting away. "Who did you meet?"
He took up his position at the stove again, lifting the lid on the largest pot. The sauce bubbling merrily inside filled the kitchen with a flush of good scent. "I like your new outfit," he said. It looked comfortable and warm, importantly. "Did you get the bath and the clothes from the same person?" Casual enough, but he was fishing for a story about a good Samaritan. It had better be.
"Oh, I'm good," he said. "Settling in and decorating. Things were a little rough during that infrasound thing, but they're settling down now." He slid the lid back onto the pot. "Did you hear it?"
