Wren beamed when a familiar face answered the door and held his flowers out with equal parts pride and bashfulness, elated when they seemed well received. "Oh, thank you!" he chirped back when he was actually permitted inside, the house all clean and beautiful.
His thin stomach growled and turned at the thick delicious smells hanging in the air, filled with nothing but grass and trash for too long. Wren put a hand over it but otherwise ignored it, his neck craned back so he could look around the place, including the ceiling. "So beautiful!" he complimented sincerely, like he'd walked into a palace. "I would have got more flowers if I knew. Adrian, your house smells lovely."
