Tonks could practically smell the disapproval, but what else was to be expected? She wasn't just an Auror known to be loyal to Dumbledore - she was also a suspected member of the Order of the Phoenix, and a half-blood to boot. Whichever issue Umbridge had with her, she was certain it was one of those. More to the point, Tonks didn't particularly care.
Turning her head to look at Umbridge, not giving her the satisfaction of making her physically shift position, she gave her a wide, privately mocking smile. She was good at faking when she needed to. This time, however, it was all she could do not to hex Umbridge into oblivion.
"Why, good morning, Dori!" said Tonks in the same perky voice Umbridge had used. If she was going to insist on calling her Nymphadora, then Tonks was perfectly happy to call her by a nickname that was just as degrading as the smile Umbridge was giving her. "It's brilliant to be back, really. I didn't realise my injury was so widely-known." Her smile was all but plastered onto her face. "I'm afraid I won't be doing anything too active for a while, but for now I'm quite content to sit at a desk and do what I can. I've been a little under the weather as well. Something's been going around, apparently."
Tilting her head curiously, she gave Umbridge a long look. "So then, what brings you out of the esteemed walls of Hogwarts?"
