Norrie had taken longer than she wanted to visit Rose's apartment. A sudden trend in robe embroidery and sequins had kept Norrie stitching crazily for weeks. But she had finally finished every last sleeve trim and hem pattern - and just in time for Easter. She decided she didn't want to face a trip home, and instead decided to visit her best mate.
So Norrie had come over, correctly expecting that Rose would be working. She had re-acquainted herself with Todd, gotten dinner together, and settled in to wait for Rose. But Rose had taken longer than Norrie expected and she had fallen asleep on the couch. The sound of Rose calling made Norrie sit up calling, "Surprise!" However, in characteristic fashion, Norrie sat up too quickly and knocked her glass off of the chair, and the shattering sound sent Todd careening across the room.
