Home for the Holidays

Hogwarts literally looked like a winter wonderland with its snow covered grounds and many holiday inspired decorations throughout the most trafficked hallways. It was the time to be merry, relax and to celebrate with pudding, friends and family. Of course, since Hogwarts had dealt a sweets penalty, some students were more eager than others to get on the train to pillage its trolley. Others were more inclined to seek hugs and last minute farewells with those that were staying at the school for the holidays.

CARRIAGE RIDE
Waiting patiently outside, under the Care of Magical Creatures supervision were the traditional horseless carriages. They were still drafted by thestrals, but to those that couldn't see them, the effect of seeing holiday touched vehicles against the cheery glow of the snow cloaked scenary was a decidedly magical one. Each coach would seat at least five, seven if a bit squished.

HOGWARTS EXPRESS
The station on the other hand, was a hustle of busy activity. In addition to students returning home, there were visitors for the people of Hogsmeade and gift seekers from neighbouring small towns. There was no need for decorations on the platform, as the Christmas spirits could almost be visible in the air, literally.

Scorpius headed to the familiar territory where the carriages always left. He had to admit after the cold walk through the trees they looked rather cozy and inviting. He stuffed his hands further into his pockets and looked around for a familiar friendly face, he'd rather travel to the train station with friends, even if it was only a short journey. He glanced back towards Hogwarts bidding it a silent farewell for a few weeks, pulled his scarf further up so it rested just under the tip of his nose, and waited;keen for someone he knew to show up so they could get into the warmth and have a chat whilst they traveled. Beside him sat his slightly battered trunk and the carrying cage that contained his cat; who seemed very unimpressed to be outside in such cold conditions and flattened his ears slightly when Scorpius attempted to talk to him.
