The sun was just a smudge on the horizon when Sid finally parked her bike. Even with the engine off, her butt still vibrated from being on the bike just a tad bit too long. She took her helmet off next, running her fingers through her hair in an attempt to get rid off the helmet head she must be sporting. Still sitting on the bike, her helmet in her lap, Sid took a look at her new surroundings. She was that far into town yet but there were still people meandering about on the sidewalks. Already she felt better though. As soon as she had seen the sign welcoming her to Reesyn, she had felt a sort of weight lift from her shoulders. It had been so long since she had felt even a semblance of a hope for a place to call home, that she had forgotten what it felt like. This was her chance, her new beginning. Well, if she managed to find her apartment soon anyway.
Again, Sid looked around but nothing was familiar, though that was to be expected. She had never been here before, not even to pick out the apartment. Instead she had done it all over the phone looking at pictures a Realtor had sent her. She wasn’t going to get her hopes up that it would be a five star affair, but she was hoping that it wouldn’t be on the verge of being condemned like the last dive she had lived in. Shudders raced up and down her spine just at the memory of her old apartment.
The trouble now, was trying to find it.
After driving around for twenty minutes without any luck, Sid found herself back where she had started. If she wasn’t in public, she would curse a blue streak but under the circumstances….she managed to control herself. She left the bike parked between two cars, the helmet lay on top of the seat. Since she couldn’t remember the last thing she had had to eat, she figured that should be her next stop…and maybe even find some directions.
“Enhanced senses and I still have a horrible sense of direction when I’m on two legs instead of four.” Sid muttered to herself before she started searching on foot for a place to eat.
