Who: Jackson and Hannah.
Where: The doctor and then the diner
Why: Hannah has a doctors appointment.
Status: Incomplete.
Rating-Pg-13

Jackson held Hannah's hand as they walked into the hospital. She was eight months gone and had a big rounded belly. He'd never seen her look more beautiful. She was glowing and she looked so happy.

He looked down at her stomach. He was really looking forward to meeting their child. He was also terrified. He wanted to be a good father but considering his own, he wasn't confident he would be.

He pressed a kiss to Hannah's temple as they walked inside the hospital.

"You look beautiful," he said. He still marveled at how they got here. He had been the biggest jerk to her for so long. He knew she must really love him to be able to forgive him that. And now they were having a baby.

"All right, but what is mine is yours and all that jazz, anyway." Hannah said, the tears finally clearing up. "Yes, he is. Were it once was just us, now it will be us three. The circle of life." Hannah said, resting her hand on her naked belly. The sound of the babies heartbeat filtered through the room. "He sounds so strong, is so big. He is going to be so wildly amazing." Hannah said in awe.

"Yes that's right," he said softly. He rubbed her back gently.

Yes he is, strong like his Mommy. He's gonna be incredible and he's ours," he said softly.

"We have a lot to do. This is so late notice, but I have been calling midwives, while coming here. I saw this documentary on birth. How hospitals don't want to wait for things to progress natural. So, they induce, then they have to give an epi., after that, the contractions slow again, so more Pitocin, AKA a brand of Oxytocin, for induction. This all makes the baby hurt, puts pressure on them, and is the number one reason that hospitals just do a c section. That deprives the mother of making the hormones that help you bond with you baby. All those drugs, they drug up your baby, it ruins your body. Plus, all these preventions are just crap, and the more preventions they use, the more it harms, or messes things up, thus forcing them to do all the procedures they do that can kill. Midwives have all the equipment on hand, they are there for you and your baby, they show you the best positions to have a baby, plus they help get through the contractions, laying on your back is the hardest, worst position to use, because it forces the pelvis to become smaller. If we have him at home, we can give him the gift of a happy, fruitful life, us the possibility to really bond with Hunter Alexander. And can you please, please, keep rubbing that spot, harder even? Dig in a little." Hannah pleaded.

"It sounds like you have everything worked out. You know that I'll support you, no matter what you decide to do."

He kissed the top of her head and rubbed her back harder when she asked him to. He dug into her back a little more.

"But, I don't. I need you to help me figure out the right birth plan. I need you on everything. To know everything with me backwards and forwards. I need your help in the birthing. I need you to hold me, to know when to help the midwife, to know about me and when the baby is really coming." Hannah said nervously, suddenly having another fit of crying.

"Okay," Hannah sniffled hard. Leaning fully against him then. Burying her face against him, just to take his scent in.

He wrapped his arms around her and held her close to him. He kissed the top of her head.

"I love you so much baby," he said softly.

"I know you do. I really do. God, it is happening, this is all so real, too real. I wish Hunter would come out of hiding so I can talk to him, listen to him, ask him if he wants to be the god father?" Hannah said, through sniffling.

"You think I should try talking to him?" he asked softly.

"Your best man? Really?" Hannah said, wiping at her eyes.

"No, I mean, you are family, but I think in this case, it needs to be blood related family. He needs to be screamed at, and with my hormones the way they are, that will be easy peasy." Hannah said, blowing her nose.

"Okay, well if you need me to be there when you call him, I will. I'm always here for you Hannah, my heart."

"Wow, I am so happy, so sad, so all over the place. Thank you!" Hannah said in a giddy manner, hugging him tight. "I know, I do, you know that, right?" But before he could answer, the doctor came back in. "Okay, Hannah, here is some things for you. A heart pressure machine, I want you to monitor that. I want you to use this homeopathic stuff for your sinuses, called Sinuswars, plus, if you use a moti pot, with water and a solution of sea salt, it must be sea salt, not that stuff you buy in the grocer's. the sea salt is a natural antibiotic, it cleans out the infection. That is why they tell people with athlete's foot, or other infections to go swimming in the ocean, it is very beneficial. Here is a moti pot, I know it looks weird, but it is very easy. You fill it with warm water, and the salt, then you adjust your head so that the water goes in one nostril, and comes right out the other. You do not want to swallow this, it is bad. Once done, bend over as best as you can, and blow your nose, until all the water is out of your sinus cavities, leaving it in there will cause more fungus and bacteria to grow. It is dangerous, and we don't want to have to operate." The doctor said with a smile. "Tylenol is still good for aches and pains, the Sea Salt you can pick up at any health food store, there is one in the mall here, in Reesyn. Also, you can take these antibiotics here, they are safe for you both. Ask the pharmacist for the list of all the side affects, you feel any, stop taking them at once, call me on my emergency line." The doctor handed her a prescription, plus some of the pills to get herself started. "Here is a list of things you can do," he handed her a list with things she could use to help her out: Drink plenty of fluids, as this will help to thin secretions. Water, chicken soup, juices, and warm tea are good sources. Use a humidifier. Place it close to your face when you sleep. During the day, you can make a tent out of a sheet draped over your head. Stay under the tent for 15 minutes, three or four times a day. Rub a mentholated product (like Vicks Vaporub) on your chest according to package instructions. For nasal stuffiness, use saline drops. You can buy these at drugstores or prepare a solution at home. Just dissolve 1/4 teaspoon salt in 8 ounces of water. Place the few drops in each nostril, wait 5 to 10 minutes, and then gently blow your nose. To make breathing easier, sleep in a recliner or prop up your head with lots of pillows so that you are in a semi-upright position. Take a warm shower. This can help clear nasal stuffiness and mucus. Get plenty of rest. "You can take Robitussin for a cough and congestion. Get the one they have for people with high blood pressure, since we don't want to push things, okay? Lower doses of Zinc are safe when you use the Zinc lozenges, as well as nasal spray, like Afrin. Last, but not least, Echinacea tea, but don't go overboard. Don't over drink, 10 glasses of water, juice, tea is fine. Steer clear of milk for now, because of the phlegm. So, any questions?" Hannah tried to absorb all that he said, when he asked his next question, she nodded. "Yes, I was thinking of having a home birth, I have been looking up on it, and how they are just as prepared as a hospital, they know when to take the person to the hospital. The midwife does extensive interviewing before taking on the person as a patient, and you can be my back up, in case of anything bad happening. Like bleed out, or distress, me and Jackson have been talking about it. What do you think?" Hannah asked, sounding nervous.

He listened to the doctor, taking in what he had said. He wanted to know everything so he'd be prepared for it. He held Hannah as the doctor talked to her, silently letting her know that he was there for her. That he loved her.

He let her ask the questions she needed to ask the doctor.

"Sure, actually, my wife is a mid-wife. So, if you would like to talk to her, ask her questions. Here is her number, just tell her what you told me. That you have been researching things, you wish to have a home birth. And as an aside, I get it. At the hospital, it is a lot about pushing the pregnancy. They want the baby to come when they do, not let it happen naturally. They force the whole medication, prevention, when in actuality, their preventions, and such are what causes so many issues. Midwife's, especially in a lot of other countries have less deaths of both the fetus and mother. Less complications, less everything. You will be dealing with waiting for dilation, as well as the moment to actually push, there is a lot of pain, but in the end you have this baby who needs you. Less distress, less pain, you feel so much closer to the baby, since you feed them out of the gate, the husband or wife is there to help you through it all. You get to move around, you call the shots. It is a lot more beautiful, nurturing and in the end, very intense. I think it would be beneficial. As far as that other issue goes, I can be there, perform the procedure, give you the stitches, make sure there is no tearing. I like to get hands on with my wife. I know the hospital would be pissed at me, because it is my job to push for having the baby here. It is more expensive having the baby here, as opposed to a mid-wife, but I stand by my wife's profession, as well as standing by what you feel is best for you. So, anything you need, you let me know?" Doctor Malden said in a jovial manner, he was an aging man, with salt and pepper hair, some wrinkles, crows feet, laugh lines, but that all made him look more handsome, and even, sweet. He was a very nice, sweet, sexy man. Hannah felt she could trust him completely.

Jackson listened and nodded as the doctor spoke. He sounded like he knew what he was doing and he really believed in his wife. Like Jackson believed in Hannah. She was his wife and he'd do anything for her and he loved her so much. He felt a lot more protective of her now she was pregnant.

Hannah looked to Jackson then, wondering what he thought, if he had any questions, concerns, worries? Hannah bit on her bottom lip and watched Jackson intently.

He felt her gaze on him and he looked at her.

"I want what is best for you and our baby," he said softly.

He looked at the doctor. It was obvious he cared about his wife the way Jackson cared about Hannah.

"Do you think your wife would be willing to be the midwife for Hannah's home birth?" he asked.

Hannah's eyes went wide, but she smiled at his question.

Not thinking about going to their family estate just yet, having a midwife, having someone she knew close by. Hannah's eyes filled with tear, but she smiled more.

"Yes, would she?" Hannah asked shyly, almost.

The doctor smiled too. "I will talk to her this evening and get back to you tomorrow on an appointment with her. I am sure she would be more then willing, I can put her up to speed on your status, among other situations. All right? So, you guys are all set. Call me if there are any contractions, or if you have any questions or concerns. Especially call me if there is any bleeding or spotting. Okay kids, It was great to see you both again." He smiled, winked at Jackson, shaking Hannah's hand, then his. "Be safe on your way home guys. I hear it is supposed to rain really hard."

He led her behind the screen and took the gown off her. He gently helped her put her clothes back on and smiled.

"You are too sweet." She said softly to him, as he kissed her forehead, then led her outside.
