The lights in the auditorium were dim, with candles lit and charmed to hover in midair. On the walls were large pieces of paper, with the names of the dead students and DMLE on them, as well as a picture of each person. To open the memorial, Minister Shacklebolt gave a eulogy for the dead, and then Rose Zeller played a selection on her violin. As each name was read, anyone in attendance could come to the stage and say a few words, with the option of using a Dictaquill to record their remarks on the person's paper. In addition, there were quills by the papers, and anyone could feel free to sign remarks without having to speak in public. The papers would be given to the families of the dead.
