Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Albus and Gellert.
What: Reuniting or Reunion whichever form you want to call it.
When: Evening or around that time anyway.
Where:Godric’s Hollow where the Dumbledore’s lived in Albus’ time.
Summary: that will come later I assume since I don’t know what all will happen.
Rating: shouldn’t be too high to start. PG-13 or so I’d think?

The dust around the home was quite interesting to say the least, Albus had had to clean every inch of the home to make it habitable again after apparently all the years it had been empty. But still for Albus he stood waiting and watching daily for Gellert to come but he never did. He had searched for his sister and his younger brother, and had found neither. Or at least, in the case of his brother, he found someone who he did not recognize with anger he did not understand toward him. But unfortunately Aberforth had always been different from himself and Albus rarely really understood him or (to his disappointment) his younger sister who he tried to protect though unfortunately according to information he had picked up along his journey since he first pulled himself out at the Ministry, he failed to do so.

Albus walked between rooms in the home that now showed no sign of time at all. Fawkes sat against his shoulder as Albus paced and really let everything within the last few days that he had learned, sink in. Something was happening and he didn’t understand what it was quite yet. Oh he completely understood the information given to him, but processing it, really taking it in and accepting it? That was something it took even a powerful mind, a significant time to really do in full and Albus had apparently been ‘back’ for months. It was enough time that he had tried to secure something of himself in this time to show himself anything to help him but unfortunately the Ministry had been very…unwilling to give out too much of his past to him. Why that was he wasn’t sure and it made him question himself.

Was he a great wizard?

Did he grow up to do everything that he and Gellert had planned?

Had he become nothing at all?

So many things plagued him that it caused unrest and even more so a need for him to figure it out and truly navigate this world to gain what he needed to, to surface. But most of all? He felt Gellert’s absence in his life, an absence he took very hard considering they had grown very close in their time together of planning and plotting to get the hollows. Though from what he understood after the war with voldemort, they had all seemingly ‘vanished’ which meant that he and Gellert would have to begin again to find these sacred objects to gain what it was they were looking for.

“But that is the question isn’t it?” Albus spoke finally and in a very soft tone as he paused in the hallway at the top of the staircase. “Where is Gellert now and why hasn’t he been able to ‘come back’ as it were if it is true that I have?” What would have held him back if he was as strong as Albus knew him to be even at the age he was? Albus shifted his body in a slight stretch causing Fawkes to fly from him only to return when he finally settled from his movement in impatience and unrest. “The real question remains..” He said finally after a moment. “..who are am I now that they can’t tell me?”

Albus finally moved in his discontent state back down to the sitting room area where he stood staring blankly out at the world that was ‘modern’ compared to what he remembered in 1899. Over a hundred and five years had passed leaving Albus to wonder what the purpose here was of everything and if things seemed still the same (even if they had their differences) what was the point of all the so called changes society had apparently gone through? And unfortunately his mind on that process and path, went back to Gellert. “Where are you now?” His hand absently stroked Fawkes as he stood there trying to make peace of the chaos he was thinking.

Gellert had just spent the last several hours under a grueling, drawn out interview with the Ministry of Magic. True there was a lot of explaining they had to do... about why he turned up inside the ministry. And why it was suddenly 2004, instead of 1899. But they did, over and over explained that. Why wouldn't they just let him go? And the officials almost seemed terrified to say his name. Though they wouldn't tell him why. There was obviously something, but they wouldn't tell him.

But eventually, after explaining there must have been something remaining of his Aunt's home in Godric's Hollow, and that he promised he would go stay there... they finally let him go. Gellert was so irritated. They wouldn't even tell him about Albus.

And looking around him, everything was so different... it was more than a culture shock attacking him now. He was confused, and he just wanted to sit and think, or find Albus and just forget about it... anything. Maybe it was just a ridiculous dream, and he fell asleep on his books at Albus' house again...

But no matter how many times he tried to make himself wake up, it didn't work. However, Gellert started to feel better once he was dropped off in Godric's Hollow (apparently it was illegal for a 16 year old to apparate on his own). At least that looked the same, the houses barely modernized. He walked over to Aunt Bathilda's house. That was one thing they had told him... that Bathilda had died. He wasn't surprised. She was old when he lived with her, and she managed to live much, much longer than he anticipated. But still, she was the only relative Gellert could have counted on.

That's when Gellert noticed... the Dumbledore house. Almost completely restored. And the lights were on. It made Gellert pause, and dare to hope. Instead of going into his Aunt's old dilapidated house he ran for the front door of Albus'. At least he hoped... it was Albus. He didn't even hesitated as he banged on the front door, his breath laboured from running and hoping. Oh please, please Albus... be there.

Albus remained passive as he stared out the window. His mind was working hard enough that the image of someone he knew well and had been waiting for had gone past his senses and was completely ignored. Had he seen Gellert right away he would not have hesitated to have met him at the door as soon as possible. Unfortunately Albus was lost thinking about everything else. Where was Ariana? Where was Gellert…where were his parents for that matter? Could it be that only he was able to come back for some magical reasoning beyond his understanding? Or could it have been he came back for a reason? Had their plans not worked? Had he and Gellert failed? Was that the reason?

And, if that was the reason he came back, how could he do it having no memories of the future of himself and without the very person for which their ideas came from. He needed Gellert by his side as much as he needed Fawkes. They were partners one could not simply continue on their plans without the other. It wouldn’t make sense and it wouldn’t work. Which made him wonder then…had they failed…did that mean they hadn’t been together anymore? Was Gellert still alive and just not talking to him anymore? Had Gellert…

That thought ceased before it began as he heard pounding against his door. Albus turned and hesitated unsure if he wanted to be disturbed or not from his thoughts before finally he began walking to the front door. Thoughts raced through his mind as to who it could be and what it was he was getting himself into by opening it. The more of this world he saw the more confused him and created within him a drive to figure it out and figure himself out.

Albus Dumbledore did not give up easily and he was not giving up knowing who he was in this world and this world was hiding of who he became.

But, upon opening the door his blue eyes found a familiar face staring back at him there and for a moment Albus went stiff, still uncertain of what to make of it. “Gellert..” The name slipped past his lips in his usual soft but pensive tone as he stared at his closest friend (if that’s all that he could be called) before a smile broke over his features warming them significantly. And before he could think better of it, Albus forgot himself and simply hugged Gellert to himself allowing that relief to really wash over him. Here he had been worried and Gellert looked, well, what Albus remembered of him.

“I had thought the worst.” He admitted without stopping himself as he pulled back from their hug to look over his closest friend. But after that brief moment Albus pushed the door open the rest of the way not caring to have their reunion in the view of anyone of this time. He just for lack of a nicer phrasing, didn’t trust them and didn’t want them in his life. Upon closing the door however, Albus brought his hand out to Gellert’s face allowing his fingers to trace down it feeling momentarily vulnerable about the entire situation at hand before it dropped and that torn and pensive face returned.

He was happy to see Gellert but his curiosity began to rise seeing as he had not changed to Albus and yet here and now? Everything else had and no one could tell him or WOULD tell him of Gellert. “You’re alright? No harm done by anything?” Genuine concern but unfortunately Albus though open about his feelings was fairly sure if he had just grabbed him again he might not have let go that time.

It was such a huge relief when the door finally opened, and he saw a familiar face in Albus there to greet him. And to hear him say his name. Oh he was so glad to see that his dear friend, for lack of better words, was alright. He returned the smile Albus greeted him with, before Gellert was taken by surprised with a hug. How... how long had it been since they saw eachother last? To Gellert it felt like mere hours ago. Before he supposedly walked through the veil in the Ministry.

"I'm here now," Gellert said when Albus said he'd feared something bad had happened. He had do many questions for him. How long had he been there? What happened to them? What was this new time, and did he know where the hollows were? But first he let Albus pull him into the house and close the door behind them. Gellert was fine with that. He only needed Albus, and after hours of talking to strangers, just time alone with him was exactly what he wanted.

He stared into Albus face as he felt the other's fingers on his face, before it fell down, and a troubled look appeared on Albus' face. "I'm fine... now," Gellert said when Albus finally asked. "I just... appeared in the Ministry. They told me it was through a veil... Apparently I was dead, and I came back. They kept me there for hours questioning me, specifically after they found out who I was. But irritated the life out of me, because they haven't told me a single bloody thing almost," Gellert explained in frustration. "Please Albus... tell me you know something of what is going on. What are we doing here?"
