Somebody's Not in Kansas Anymore...[Oliver]
The air was cool, the hint of coppery tang in her mouth telling her that his punch had connected with it's target. She held her arms up, hands balled into fists as a slow grin pulled at Mia's lips. Her eyes left his face and flickered to the knife in his hands. She saw him step forward his arm in motion, but before he had the chance to jab the knife in her direction her foot shot out, the heel of her boot slamming into his shin.
Her grin widened, her body weaving as she sent a roundhouse kick to his arm and knocked the blade clear across the alley. She knew she shouldn't be out there antagonizing the criminal element of Metropolis, Oliver would most likely be furious if he knew, but he hadn't been around lately and Mia was bored.
"What's the matter? Nothing to say now that a girl is beating your ass?" She asked her tone bordering on cocky as he glared at her and charged in her direction. With practiced ease she lifted her arm and blocked his first two punches before lashing out with her right leg and catching him in the stomach.
She heard him grunt, but she didn't stop. Mia's fists flew out of their own accord, upper cut, jab, punch, until he slammed into the pile of garbage at the end of the alley. Her chest rose and fell heavily as adrenaline pumped through her veins. She was going to take care of this scumbag, zip-tie his ass to the dumpster and call the cops.
But in the process of stepping forward something happened. The brick walls shook around her and then the ground rumble. She stumbled back on the unsteady ground before some kind of energy poured through the alley knocking her into the air, her scream echoing through the night as the world went white.
---
Her body slammed into concrete, the shock of the hard surface beneath her startling her awake. She blinked and shifted, groaning as she lifted her hand to her side. She could feel something sticky and wet on her palm and she sighed.
Wonderful, when Oliver finally did make it back home from wherever the hell he was she was never going to hear the end of this one. She blinked, her vision clearing as it took in the dark night sky. She turned her head to the side and a shrill scream left her throat as she came face to face with a snake.
Her body jerked into a sitting position as she scooted away from the offending creature not realizing until she was several feet away that it was already dead. Her heartbeat slammed against her chest as she glanced around her surroundings confusion filling her.
Dead reptiles littered the streets...streets that didn't at all look like the Metropolis streets she'd just been on. Mia pushed herself onto her knees and then stood on shaky legs. "What the hell, where am I?"
