The Doctor Is In (OPEN)
The Doctor stood with that infamously hollow smile; one that spoke of the centuries of the Doctor's life, the one that let anyone who saw it feel like everything would be alright, but all who knew him, know that there was a quiet loneliness that expanded this vast universe. It was in his eyes on days like this, when his companions left the TARDIS. The most loyal of his companions, that blue box, stood graciously in waiting behind him while he watched from its door Amy and Rory making their way back into their lives. Amy had intentions of returning, going after some change of clothes; Rory too, because of course he would never leave her side.

The smile was dropped the moment the two turned their backs and the Doctor stepped into the TARDIS. He was a danger to them, she'd been held captive because of him, and he was not about to let it all come crashing down around them once more, not this time. So the Doctor hopped up his steps and twisted on his feet before coming into a complete 360, and landing dead center in front of the flight controls of the TARDIS. He looked at the view screen outside once more, waited until he saw Amy's door shut, and then he flipped a switch. The brakes let off, he began to twirl a knob here, pump a stick here, pulled a lever and then placed it back; and quickly began to spin a wheel. That familiar whoosh and whee of the TARDIS beginning its ascent into the time vortex was the alarm needed for Amy to come rushing out of the house.

He stared at the screen, and for a moment hesitated, then finally slammed a button that had the TARDIS vanishing into thin air, and the box began to spin its way through beautiful light show of the time vortex. Red and blue tunnels of clouds surrounded the Doctor's beloved and a true smile showed on his face once more.

"Where to now sexy?! Meet Edmund Hillary at the top of Everest? I imagine he'd be a bit hungry, could bring him a snack. No, bad idea, time changer and all that. No good. Maybe head over to the Horse Head Nebula? It's got a brilliant super nova show, and so close to another black hole, the event horizon between the two would be remarkable! Ah, better yet! Canada! Where they make Swedish Fish, and find out why the fish are red. Brilliant mystery."

He was about to punch in coordinates when suddenly everything went to hell. The TARDIS shook violently then had that inescapable feeling of falling. It lurched in the sky and dropped, and he had to hold on tight to the control panel so as not to go flying from its control board. He glanced about, blinking, "No no no!!" He grabbed the nearest sledge hammer and brought it up to slam onto the control board, but nothing did it any good and she buckled harder. Lights began to pop and shatter, smoke billowing from the inner circuitry. He stared directly into the viewing screen, bringing up their coordinates and frowned.

"No! Not again. The Time Vortex--no it's not... not gone it's breaking open?! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" Then another powerful lurch and he heard something shatter deep inside of the hull and grumbled, "Priceless Zekarian Vase, gone. It was the last one!" Then at the viewing screen again, and the readouts made no sense. Even to him. An entirely new time vortex he was in, and then fell through that; another, and then fell through that,"Impossible! Impossible! Three impossible things in a row... BRILLIANT!"

He grit his teeth as he flew around the control board doing all in his power to keep the TARDIS afloat. Still it spun, it whirred, and then suddenly it came to a complete stop. It slammed hard into something solid, the vibration sending the Doctor off of his feet and into the glass flooring below. He winced, and then blinked as he hopped to his feet. The lights were out, it was pitch black. The TARDIS, she had no power, she was dead. He tried desperately to get her back online, but nothing. The sparking was done, the smell of smoke fuming in the air; yet pure silence, completely pure silence, and he was alone. The most loyal and most brilliant of companions, and his sexy was dead. He couldn't even bring up the viewing screen to see where he was. So, guess it was time to explore.

He stood to his full height and brushed himself off, tightened his bowtie, and then moved to leap off the stairs onto the floor below. Opening the TARDIS door, he stepped clearly into the light, squinting just a bit as he gazed over a weathered and beaten land. A murky distance, and expanse of dark clouds hung over head. The air smelled of rot and chemical, and the sky burned with a hidden sun. The air was a bit cold to the touch at the precise moment, and was thick with musky stench. The ground was hard and unforgiving, and the trees looked ruined and decaying. This was a dying world. Was this a Time Lord version of hell? Alone, on a dying world, for all the crimes he'd committed? Turning in his steps, he glanced back and blinked. There, behind the TARDIS, sat a massive fortification. A wall, a giant wall. At its top ran what he assumed were guards, and The Doctor's ship had rested itself right up against the back of it.

Stepping back some, The Doctor quickly began to glance about the wall, scanning it; before pulling out that familiar tool. The sonic screwdriver in hand was used and he scanned the air quickly. Glancing at the readouts, he frowned, there was something going on. The reading of the air was in flux, the chemicals always in flux; it all seemed completely mad. Mysterious. It was as if this world were constantly in change, but yet staying very much the same in its cosmetics. He shrugged and flipped the screwdriver in hand, and began to make his way along the wall, hoping to find himself a gate here at some point.

"Into the wall, I do love a wall, so ominous and foreboding; dark clouds, fluxuating atmosphere, guards, and a giant wall in what is a dying world. The TARDIS last act was to give me my entire bucket list at once," He smirked and continued on his trek, wondering just what he might encounter on his way there.

"Don't have a time table, doc. Enough to mostly occupy two known cities and one traveling camp, enough people - mostly." Dean glanced at the "doctor" beside him. The guy was just too damn happy for this; the screwdriver wasn't helping. The hunter kept thinking about tricorders, all of them, and how crap usually went wrong when people used them. Dean looked down at his shirt without thinking; it wasn't until he relaxed in seeing that he was not wearing a red shirt, or a yellow one for that matter, that he realized what he was doing. Thankfully, no one would ever know of his secret life as a geek.

"The lady 'in charge'," Dean's voice suggested just how little he thought she was in charge, and how little he thought of her. Some might say he had issues with strong women; he'd just say he didn't like chicks who locked him up in cells with possibly infected albeit hot women. "She'll know more than I do - she's from here."

He reached down and picked up some dirt. He popped it into his mouth, licking at it, before spitting it out and scratching it off his tongue. He shook his head and just nodded, "Interesting. This place isn't meant to exist, yet it does. The time is a combination of several times; it is simply the 'present', but not the future, or the past. Oh, multiple realities, universes... it's cascading down into this plane."

He frowned at the idea of the lady in charge. She was from here, she was 'in charge', but this didn't sound appealing to the man beside him. As he walked he picked up quick moments and images in his mind. He saw buildings; some newer, some older, some of the people dirty, broken, cold. He then noted one or two who seemed a bit more aware, a bit more alive. He twisted on his feet, spinning a bit, as he looked around and then moved back to Dean.

"What's her name? Whose in charge? What did she tell you when you arrived? Who put her in charge?"

Dean stopped to look at the doctor, really look at him. This man was crazy, and Dean had seen crazy. He thought through the questions and what he could answer.

"Maybe you should just ask her yourself. Surprised she hasn't made a special position to deal with people who are new to town." He didn't explain exactly what new was exactly, but it seemed to fit. "Her name's Belia O-something. She didn't say how she became head cheese, and she told me this world was going to hell in a handbasket, and we're either helping it go along that way or stopping it. Now, she can tell you more about what hows and whys she knows, but eating the dirt, man? That's just not right."

"Yes, I do plan on asking her myself. New to town? You have new visitors often? Oo, and they hold the key to stopping or continuing the destruction of all reality? Time and reality collapsing in on itself, all circling and falling to this one main focal point in time; which is clouded with wilderness and broken reality storms. A group of half-dead natives, living simply on grit, reality, and necessity. With new occupants that are arriving almost daily, but in small numbers; with the unbelievable task and ability of either fixing it, or making it worse..."

He grinned happily as he fixed his bow tie, "Someone's been peeking at my fantasies."

Clapping his hands together once, he nodded, "Right, so where is this Belia? I need to see her right away. I think it's time to save the Universe. And the dirt tastes wrong. You're right. Tastes far too wrong."

"I don't have new visitors, bud. I'm just visiting myself." Dean refused to claim this place as his home, and he'd been considering moving. He just wasn't ready to have that talk with some people. Not yet anyway. He could handle the weird murderer much better than the woman with secrets; the hunter didn't try to think too hard about what that meant.

"Heading that way." He guessed that the woman knew they were coming, and he would bet that she was more than ready to meet Doc Crazyhat, if he wasn't already someone who lived here. He kept waiting for one of this world's inhabitants to go crazy and pretend to be someone who is 'chosen.' It wouldn't be that hard, would it?

"And people think I've got crazy fantasies." He rolled his eyes, shaking his head. This guy was definitely a few bubbles off.

He led the way to where he was certain some of Belly's men or women were waiting to take the strange bow tie fez man somewhere that was very much else.

"Now, you wait here." He said slowly, almost concerned the man might follow him. "They'll come get you soon." He started to step away, and with a deep breath and hope, he turned and quickly walked off. If the man was really local, then he hoped they'd find him help. If the man wasn't, Dean hoped he wasn't a danger to anyone, including the man himself. The hunter had other things to worry about...for now.
