Time for a little girl talk? (Cordelia with a Sammy cameo!)
Fred giggled as she kissed Sam. She knew he'd have to leave eventually, but she wasn't being very helpful. They were at least dressed after breaking in the new-to-Fred(-and-Sam) bed. Actually they probably made very good use of the new place, but not so loudly that people might complain. Hopefully, anyway.

They'd had breakfast, and Fred knew she'd have to look at some of the cooling systems. She'd get to them. She had given her word about it. Sam was trying to be helpful. He'd been returning the kisses that she'd been giving, and possibly throwing a few of his own. They'd made it to the door, and he was actually standing outside the apartment, somewhat.

"We could wait just a little longer." She had managed to get dressed herself. She smiled up at him, her fingers playing with the bottom of his shirt. She hadn't been so very open with Charles, possibly. People didn't seem willing to see Fred in this way perhaps. She had been somewhat reserved with him, only somewhat.

"Oh! Don't forget! I want you to meet Cordy! I don't know when would be a good time, but you have to meet her. She lives right there." The brainy Texan motioned to her friend's door. "I'd go knock on her door, but I don't want to wake her."

Sam chuckled and returned one of the kisses. It had been another night of not all that much sleep but when he had slept, he'd slept well. He supposed Dean might not be too happy when he got back, though he had left a note for his brother. Not that he'd simply assumed that he would spend the night with Fred, but he'd made it clear that he might not be back until the morning.

In some ways, he was happier than he'd been in years. In others, he could feel the slow erosion on his mind of all of the memories that he was still just trying to find ways to deal with.

For now, he shoved those thoughts out of his mind and pulled Fred closer for yet another kiss.

"You just tell me when and I'd be happy to meet Cordy," he told her.

He was glad for Fred that one of her friends had ended up here, even if getting stuck here wasn't a fate he'd wish on anyone.

"Does now work?" Cordelia bit back a smirk as she arched her eyebrows, leaning against the door frame of the door of her own apartment. She had just stepped into the hallway to walk over to Fred's to see if the other woman knew of any nearby stores so she could try and find at least a pair of clothes to change into. The apartment had enough food and hygiene supplies, but she hadn't found any extra clothes to wear.

And there they'd been--Fred, whom she could barely see because of the very tall man blocking the doorway, his back to Cordelia--whom she assumed was the Sam that Fred had been talking about.

It was interesting, really. She hadn't been around Fred long enough to see what the other woman was like when she was in a relationship. From what little she'd seen, Fred appeared to be very happy.

Fred was definitely enjoying the kissing, and only wished that Cordy hadn't said anything just a little bit. She was more than happy to see that Cordelia Chase was awake and ready to meet Sam. She laughed softly, giving Sam one more kiss before slipping somewhat away, not too far though as she had managed to capture his hand in hers.

"Now is good. I think." She glanced back at Sam before tugging him closer to her and through that Cordelia. "Sam Winchester, this is Cordelia Chase. Cordelia Chase, this is Sam Winchester. He has an older brother. They both hunt demons. And lots of other things." Fred had to stop herself from likening both men to Angel: one drove a really cool car; the other had had his soul pushed back in him and was having issues with it, and both were broody hero types who had emotional issues. Well, that's what she guessed anyway, even if Sam had been smiling.

"They're good guys." She nodded almost daring anyone to contradict her. Her fingers squeezed Sam's to show she really meant what she was saying.

Sam gave Cordelia a warm smile that was just a little bit sheepish in response to Fred's assessment of himself and Dean. He squeezed Fred's hand bag and offered his free hand to Cordelia.

"Nice to meet you, Cordelia. I've heard a lot about you."

He had, of course. They had done some talking the previous night after all, and Fred had been excited about finding her friend.

Cordelia smiled back at him, reaching out to shake his free hand and glancing at Fred. "Nice to meet you, too, Sam." She cocked her head to the side at the mention of hunting demons.

"Hunting demons. That sounds familiar," she told him, arching her eyebrows a little. She wondered if Fred had told him about Angel Investigations and what they did there, but didn't want to give too much away if she hadn't, for whatever reason.

"He knows about what we did." Fred had filled him in on a good bit of what her life had been like while she told him about Cordy. She couldn't leave things out. It was hard to answer "How'd you meet?" without bringing up demons and queens and different dimensions. Well, it wasn't hard for normal people; Fred didn't see any reason to hide it from Sam.

"I was about to head out to do some work. You can come along if you'd like? I bet Sam has some hero-y stuff to do." She didn't know if he did, but that seemed like a Sam thing to her. She gave him a soft hip check and a smile.

"Plus, we can talk." They hadn't had much chance to talk, getting Cordelia settled in and all that.

Sam leaned in and gave Fred one last kiss.

"I'll see you soon," he promised her. Then he turned his attention back to Cordelia with a broad smile.

"It was good to meet you, Cordelia."

"Likewise," she told him with a smile of her own, arching her eyebrows at Fred as Sam headed away. She grinned brightly at the other woman. "He's really cute!" Which was basically Cordelia's way of saying she approved.

Fred smiled, returning the kiss before Sam went on his way. The brainy Texan turned her attention to the fashionista, blushing a little for the compliment.

"He is. Did you sleep okay?" She smiled hopefully. "It was hard for me to when I first got here. But then I wasn't sleeping in a bed. I was sleeping in a tent on the ground. Though that's better than sleeping in a barn, isn't it?"

"I slept okay," Cordelia assured her. "And it definitely beats sleeping in a barn. Or a tent for that matter." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "I was hoping you could show me around a little? Maybe find a store that might sell me some clothes for cheap?" She pulled a twenty dollar bill out of her pocket, hoping that this dimension actually used money.

"Uhm." Fred's brows furrowed a little at the money. "Well, no. Not exactly. We may be able to find something that no one's using? New clothes are kind of...well, it's not like back in L.A." She gave the poor fashionista a slight smile.

"Whatever we find for you, we'll get it extra clean. I might have some clothes that don't fit me right. I don't have as much going in the front as you do." She looked down then looked at Cordy then shrugged with a smile.

"Sorry. It's better than the sacks through we had to wear in Pylea." She was trying to make it better.

Cordelia's smile slipped a little and she sighed, sticking the money back in her pocket. "Figures. Why is it we always get stuck in dimensions where there's no good shopping malls?" She shrugged, eying the brainy brunette for a moment. "I think I'd rather look through stuff of yours that doesn't fit than go dumpster diving."

Which was really sort of an understatement on her part. She knew Fred was trying to be helpful, and she appreciated that. "So maybe you can tell me more about Sam while we go through your clothes?" she suggested.

"We're not going to be dumpster diving. There are just pre-owned clothes is all. But, you can still go through what I've got." Fred smiled at her friend. "Though I think I might have some of Sam's clothes in there. Well, just his shirts." She was trying not to brag, honestly.

"Com'on. I had a pile of clean clothes." She didn't go into what happened to that pile. She didn't think Cordelia really needed to know.

"I'll try not to pick out anything of your boyfriend's," she teased lightly, following Fred into the apartment. She glanced around, smiling a bit. "So, what's the last thing you remember before you found yourself here?"

She made a beeline for the sofa and dropped down onto it, picking up one of the pillows and pulling it to her chest. It was weird that she was already homesick, even if having Fred there did help.

"You can if you'd like. Just his shirt. I have a pair of boxers that I still don't know who they belong to. Well, they're mine, but they weren't before I got them." Fred smiled at her friend, watching the woman flop. She started looking around her studio apartment and finally found the clothes she needed.

"Here we go." She held up some shirts and cargo pants, folding them up to set on the couch by Cordelia. "Those may work. I don't think I have anything to fit..." She glanced down at her own chest, giving the other woman a slightly sheepish smile.

"I...the last thing I remember is the man who sent me to Pylea falling into a portal to somewhere else." She didn't add that the man was dead and who killed him.

Cordelia picked up the shirt and pants, studying them for a moment and nodding. At least she knew where they'd been, and they did look like they'd fit, even if the shirt might be a little tight.

She paused, glancing up at the other woman when she spoke again. "Oh." She blinked a couple of times, not quite sure what to say. "Well, that's...are you sure he didn't fall into the same portal? I mean, if that's the last thing you remember, are you sure it's not what brought you here?"

"I am sure." Fred looked down at the floor; she didn't want to go into the why or the how. She just hoped Cordelia would understand that there was a truth and surety to her words. She finally looked up at the fashionista.

"I have to do something, and I'm not proud of it." Fred settled down by her friend. "I have to fulfill a deal with a demon. I haven't told Sam, or anyone else. I don't want to do it. I didn't want to do it. Thought that two magical types who seem kind of powerful, though I hadn't really seen them do anything but I guessed it, they were certainly confident. They could have done something, but they didn't. They wanted to do the whole deal thing. I don't like the deal. I don't think I can even fulfill it, and I'm afraid of telling Sam because he hunts them. Demons and all that. So, I don't know what to do."

She sighed softly, hating herself for dumping this on her friend who didn't remember all that Fred herself did. But, someone had to know. Maybe Cordelia could help. Maybe she could get a vision, something, anything.

Given Fred's prolonged silence after answering her question, she knew there was something more to the story than she was saying, but she was going to let that slide for now.

But at the mention of 'deal with a demon,' she felt her entire body tense a little. "What kind of deal?" she asked uncertainly, frowning as she studied Fred closely. "And what kind of demon?" Cause god knew there were a thousand different kinds or more.

"Have to write down something from my life, something awful. It's not at all fun. It's not comfortable. And, I don't want to do it. It's not a happy thing, and I want to hide. But, I can't hide because the demon is holding our deal over a lot of books that could be helpful, or just tell us all what we knew already. Which would make our efforts sort of pointless." Fred sighed, shrugging.

"The people who went with me were just...they didn't seem willing to fight. So, whatever it is, it seems pretty strong or they would have fought it, right?" The brainy Texan was used to the fighters, and Zatanna and John seemed like the fighting sort.

Somehow talking to Fred always managed to make Cordelia feel like she was trying to solve a 5000 piece puzzle with really tiny pieces. She leaned back against the couch, positioning herself so she was facing the other woman face-on.

"So a demon made you promise to write some kind of autobiographical essay in exchange for some books that may or may not help? And...the people who went with you just let you make this deal?" There was more than a hint of confusion in her tone.

"Actually, I didn't make the deal. They made the deal. I don't know if they weren't feeling up to fighting, or if they thought he was certainly powerful because he seemed to know what we were already, or who we were. He said our names. Well, their names. His name? Not the demon, but John's name. They might know more, but if they knew more, they didn't do much other than say, okay. Then again, the demon had left behind a lot of bones of other things around." Fred sighed softly.

"There was a really high creep factor. As in, I think we could have died in there. Which isn't that new for me, but I was with strangers, and they had magical powers, and...I thought going along with it was the best choice at the time." She sighed again, shaking her head. "I'm really stuck."

Her eyebrows furrowed. "Wait, so all of you have a deal? Or just you?" And who was all of them, anyway? She was growing more confused by the minute. And she had a feeling she was going to have to go have a talk with this John guy. "Maybe I can help somehow."

"All of us. I didn't have much of a choice, or maybe did. I lost how it was working out pretty quickly. I didn't understand, and I still don't. I've been in denial about it, I guess, because I could probably ask John and Zatanna about it." Fred sighed softly, curling up on the couch.

"I haven't told Sam, but I think if we all put our minds to it, we may be able to figure out how to get us out of it." She gave her friend a hopeful yet a little nervous smile.

Cordelia reached up and gathered her hair, thankful at least, that she'd had a scrunchy on her wrist when she'd been teleported to this universe. She tied it into a messy bun on top of her head for the time being, mostly to give herself something to do.

"All right. So basically I need to talk to John and Zatanna." Which was possibly the strangest name she'd ever heard in her life. "And figure out how we can break this deal thing. Because there has to be a way. There's always a way." She smiled brightly at Fred.

"You don't need to. If you want to you can, but you don't need to. I'm a big girl. I can take care of it, once I figure out what it is exactly. But, I would like your help." Fred returned the smile, even if it wasn't as bright.

"Thank you, Cordelia. I'm glad you're here. Well, not glad glad, but glad." She laughed softly and leaned over to give the woman a hug.

"I didn't mean you couldn't," Cordelia amended, smiling softly at the other woman. "But I do want to help." She hugged her back without hesitation. "And I'm glad you're here, too. In the same way that you mean." She shrugged a little.

Maybe they just needed to have a little faith. And maybe, just maybe, things would turn out all right.
