Dinner without garlic (Aidan)

Dean couldn't stay in the apartment any longer, and he gave in to the growlings of his stomach. He needed food. He needed food, and he would have it. So, out he went into the so-called wild. After jotting a quick note to Sam, of course.

The small place around the corner, and he was more than willing to eat the local mystery meat sandwich. The hunter was known for being willing to eat anything they might have that is fried or covered in gravy. Somehow his stomach handled it all, and he was still waiting for some deadly food; he hadn't had anything that killed him yet. Then again, he didn't exactly have an angel that could work the right mojo to bring him right back to life.

He stopped just outside the bar, saloon, pub, whatever it people called it. He checked his pockets absently for what he might be able to barter. The locals did seem to buy into the charms and things he had for trade. Nothing that could get them hurt, and he tried to make sure they didn't become overly confident. But, they'd certainly be okay against some demons; he'd hope so anyway.

When Worlds Collide...

The thing had been in the sky for days.

Very visible at night, and still clear in the day, though what it was was unidentifiable. At most angles, it just appeared to be a comet or a shooting star, but at others, the shape was off. The fact that it hadn't left the sky was another worrying trait. Even a rogue satellite would have disappeared before long, following the trajectory it had been put on before it had become defunct. This did more worrying things. There were times it was still, others that it moved, and still others where it moved in the opposite direction it had been previously. Things not typical to an average stellar occurrence.

Residents all over began to whisper of it, claiming it to be another sign that they were all doomed. The end was coming, and it was damn nigh.

Despite the inability to know what was to happen, there was still the notion that the thing, whatever it was, was going to come crashing into them. So when even the ground was rocked by something that seemed to be thunder, that's what they thought it was. The object crashing into the planet, ready to send shockwaves of destruction throughout everything and everyone. They steeled themselves for it. Braced for the impact, made themselves accept they were all done for.

But there was nothing after the crash. The object was still in the sky and nothing seemed to be amiss around them.

A Tale of Two Brothers (log, continued in comments)

The flashbacks were getting worse. It seemed that the more stressed out Sam became over the demon and the nearing apocalypse, the more he lapsed into memories that were better left unexplored. The stubborn part of him wanted to hide this from his brother for as long as he could because he didn’t want the ‘I told you so.’ And he was doing his best to hide it from Fred because it wasn’t her job to take care of him.

When he slipped into one of these spells, Sam was usually able to feel it coming on and he’d take to wandering about the city. There were times when his wanderings took him outside the wall, like they had on the day he’d met Spiderman. Peter Parker, he corrected himself. It was more polite to call the comic book characters he’d met by their proper names as opposed to the their hero names.

At least, he thought that was correct.

”Where are you going, Sammy? Don’t you realize that we’ve only just begun? You didn’t think escaping Hell would be that easy, did you?”

Lucifer’s voice filled his head and Sam closed his eyes in an attempt to stave off the panic. There was always that slight edge of fear about him. Always that worry that this might simply be a hallucination-just a really screwed up mindfuck. That eventually it would all be ripped away and he’d still be roasting in Hell.

After all, how many people escaped Hell? His brother had, but he’d had an angel to pull him out. What angel would have pulled Sam out? After what he’d done, he certainly didn’t deserve that rescue.

To Add to the Confusion... )
