MOD POST AND RULES

Welcome to [info]realbeauty, a PB community for characters who are "less" than beautiful by conventional standards. Plain, nerdy, unattractive, plus-sized, and other people who aren't smoking hot are all welcome here. The community rules as of 1/24/2010 are...

  1. Only PBs who aren't "pretty" or "handsome" need apply. Obviously there's going to be some difference of opinion in who is and isn't considered attractive, but try to use common sense. Obviously Brad Pitt and Robert Pattinson don't belong here.
  2. Live-action icon posts only, please.
  3. Links to unlocked journal posts, unlocked community posts, or open-membership locked community posts only. If you do the latter, make sure you also post a link to the "Join" page for your community, too (e.g. http://www.insanejournal.com/asylum/join.bml?comm=realbeauty). If you link to a friends-only journal post, your post will be deleted.
    • Or, you can also post your icon sets in [info]realbeauty if you feel like it. If you choose to do this, please put your icons behind an <lj-cut> to save space.
    • Whichever method you choose, please put at least one but no more than three teaser icons in your entry, outside of the lj-cut, as a preview of your entry.
  4. Tag your posts appropriately -- I've defined a set of startup tags for everyone to use. If you need more tags for physical characteristics, feel free to request them here. I'm not sure how many tags IJ accounts are allowed to have (it's not in the FAQ anywhere!) so for now I'd like to hold off on adding tags for celebrities.
  5. You can search for tag combinations by URL manipulation; for example, http://asylums.insanejournal.com/realbeauty/tag/white,blond%20hair,glasses,female will return all entries tagged white, blond hair, glasses, and female. Sadly, unlike on Livejournal, appending ?mode=and will not make it search for entries containing only all four of those tags. I'll be looking for a way to effectively categorize the posts in this community, and any suggestions are more than welcome.
  6. If you have any problems with posts, other users, or the way the community is being run, comment here and I'll do my best to address them.
