FAQ
The following post is our FAQ and where you need to go to ask questions.
We credit 100quills for most, but not all of the following information.
Please read carefully, some of the rules have been a bit changed from 100quills.
How do I make a claim?
Comment here with the following, type your answers outside of the closed/bold sign:
Is there a word limit for stories?
Stories must be at least 100 words long. Beyond that, there are no limits.
Can I cross-post the stories I write for this?
By all means! They're your stories.
Can I use stories I've already written for this?
No, the idea is to write 100 (or 50 or 25) new fanfics. If you start writing after you've made your claim but before it's been accepted, that's fine.
Am I allowed to submit fan art in lieu of fan fiction?
Yes, provided it's actually your art and actually about your claim, and as long as it doesn't take up more than 50% of your claim.
Do I have to post by any deadline?
No, this is all very low-pressure.
Is there anything else that can make me lose my claim?
Yes.
.If your account is deleted and someone wishes to claim your CPE, you're claim will be handed over to them immediately, regardless of the last time you posted new fics (unless you've explained your deleted account and told you'll be back).
.Flaming, trolling etc. can also lead to having your claim removed in some cases.
. If you made a claim but are not a member, your claim will be removed. You have 1 week to become a member after you've made your claim.
Can I have more than one claim at a time?
Yes, of course. You can make up to 3.
Can I claim the same CPE as someone else?
You can make the same claim as someone else (CPE wise) as long as you are claiming a different table.
May I claim OCs?
OCs are fine in fics themselves, but you may not claim an OC or a character/OC.
May I write a crossover pairing or fic?
Yes. It doesn't really matter to me as long as the pairing or character you've claimed is in your fic.
If I claim a character, do all my fics have to center around that character? If I claim a pairing, do all my fics have to involve that pairing?
The character you claim must have a considerable role in every fic you write. S/he needn't make an actual appearance, but s/he should be mentioned in more than just passing. If you claim a pairing, not every (or, indeed, any) fic must contain actual romance between the two characters, but every fic must have at least one character in a main role and the other noticeable.
What can I claim besides a character or a pairing?
You may claim just about any group or anyone as long as its is not too broad. For example, "female characters" is too broad and etc. You may however claim groups of people, provided you're a tad specific.
If you have any other questions about what is or is not allowed as a claim, comment here or email me at leanderthebrave@gmail.com and I'll be happy to answer your questions.
If I claim a character, may I write pairings involving that character?
You may indeed. However, you may not claim a character and write all your fics of the same pairing that involves that character.
What ratings are allowed?
All ratings are allowed here, as long as they are clearly labeled. We would prefer you use the ratings G through NC-17, but this is not mandatory if you prefer a different rating system.
May I do a joint claim with a friend?
Yes. I've got no problem with a joint claim, provided you are using the same username so that it doesn't confuse me or other members.
Do I need to post fics in any order/at any specific time?
No. You may write and post them in whatever order and at whatever frequency you please.
Can I write a chapter per claim rather than a standalone fic per claim?
Certainly!
Can I write more than one prompt in one fic?
No, the idea is to write one hundred (or 50 or 25) fics. Chapters count as they are self-contained bodies, but a fic that utilizes multiple prompts is still a single piece of writing. If you can write a fic in multiple (separate) parts, each of them utilizing one specific prompt, that's fine.
How central does the prompt need to be to the fic?
You needn't use the word specifically—the idea is more to use the prompt as a jumping off point or a theme. Of course, you may also use the prompt in a more outright manner. Use your own judgment; you'll be fine. As long as the prompt pertains to the fic to you I've got no problems with ambiguity.
Where do I find the Prompt Tables?
The Prompt Tables to help you decide which set you want to work with are here.
The Prompt Tables to let you post them on your ij or lj once you're claim has been approved are here
May I write RPF?
No, not in this community.
Are AUs allowed?
Yes, they are.
What is the waitlist?
If you wish to claim a CPE for a specific prompt table but it has already been claimed by someone else, you can be put on the waitlist. You'll be on the waitlist until the previous claim is either completed or abandonded. After this, your claim will be accepted and the mods will inform you that you can start writing.
The waitlist is here. Keep in mind that you need only be on the waitlist if all prompt tables for your CPE are taken, or if the prompt table you would most enjoy writing is already taken for your CPE.
I want to read fics at quill_it but there are so many of them! What's the easiest way to browse them?
All the fics have been tagged. Just click on the tags page and then click on the tag you are interested in. Also, you can see our claims post for current claims with links to prompt tables and/or tags. The Tags List is here, although the Tags Page is really the best way.
I would like to Affiliate, what do I do?
Simply comment here with your community name.
Since I have finished the table, would you like me just to do one post with the table that has links to every thing I wrote or do you want me to go in and post them one at a time?
If it's a claim that you've already completed, you need to comment to the Completed Claims post, with the information we've asked for.
If your claim is complete and you never posted the fics to this community, please post your prompt table with all the complete fics linked inside it to this community. In this case, make sure your fics are not locked as in this case your fics will be links to your journal.
If your claim is not complete, then please respond to the claim post with a claim and then, once approved, being posting your fics to this community. No fake cuts are allowed!
If your claim is not complete, then please respond to the claim post with a link to your prompt table (the one you've posted in your journal).
I've lost my tag. Where can I go to find it?
A list of all user tags is here, in order by number of prompts. You can also just scroll up to the top of the user info and click "tags."
What happens if my claim is denied?
If your claim is denied there will be a reason, plainly stated, in the comment telling you why your claim was denied and how to fix it. After you've fixed whatever issue we had, just re-comment with your claim.
Where do I go to drop my claim?
Click right here and fill out the requested form. Once the drop has been approved, you'll get a comment from a mod and your claim will be removed.
Are fake-cuts allowed?
Yes, just make sure that you've said it's a link to your journal, and make sure the post at your journal is public.
Do I need to post my fics to 100quills as well as here?
No. We are not even remotely affiliated or related to 100quills. Do not post your fics there too, unless you were approved there too.
What if I have a question that isn't here?
Comment to this post or email me at leanderthebrave@gmail.com and I'll get back to you within a week. Any new questions are put up here with their answers.
