Prompt: First Time
Title: Do you believe in love at first sight Author: foreverbm Words: 350 Genre: General A/N: I actually wrote this for my Michael Musing's challenge, but thought and hope it fitted the prompt so am taking the liberty of posting it.
Of course I do! I fell in love the moment I saw this guy standing in my store. I still remember it clearly even after 10 years; even down to what he was wearing- Tight blue jeans; brown leather jacket over a blue shirt. Emmett took one look at his shoes and said he had to be straight. I knew differently. I stopped eating, my sandwich stuck somewhere between my mouth and the counter as I watched him, picking up comic after comic. I just couldn’t take my eyes off him. I wanted to rush over and grab hold of him, making sure he didn’t leave until I at least found out his name. I didn’t of course; I just sat there and hoped he would want to buy something and then worried I would be tongue tied when that happened. My mother was in the store as well, and he turned to her, obviously asking her something. I couldn’t hear his voice, but somehow I knew it would be deep, sexy. Then his eyes were on me. I don’t think I blushed; yes, I still did that even at thirty, I still do occasionally. Even behind his glasses I could see that his eyes were blue, and they had a light in them that made me smile. I stood, remembering to brush the crumbs off me, and walked towards him. The first conversation we had is still vivid in my mind, but I won’t bore you with it, basically he talked, I listened, my eyes never leaving his face. Finally I said something and he smiled and that was it, I was lost. When he walked out the door, comics in hand, I realized I still didn’t know his name. But that didn’t matter because the next day he came back, I know now it was to see me, but at the time I didn’t think he was interested. How wrong I was. By the way, his name was Ben and ten years later, eight of them married, we are still together and always will be.
