QAF Fandom InsaneJournal News -- 2/21/09  
Hi, everyone!

We've got challenges, icons, polls, meta, picspams, graphics, and oh yeah... smut. In other words, fandom happens!

The beautiful banner above is by [info]maybe742, and it was created for the full series marathon at [info]qaf_marathons with our lovely hostess [info]not_yet_defined. After a short hiatus during the holidays (apparently the same one I was on with this newsletter, although Ny at least had the grace to, you know, announce hers), it picked up with episodes 305, 306, 307, 308 -- with 304 comments; does our fandom love this episode or what?, 309, 310, and 311. Please come by and discuss the episodes! Marathons are held on Tuesday evenings at 9 PM Eastern Time, but you can drop by anytime to comment.

And speaking of marathons... on Sunday, March 1, at 6 PM Eastern/3 PM Pacific Time, there will be a special marathon of episode 101 with our hostess [info]fun_demented... don't miss it! (Note: this was originally scheduled for Feb 22, but rescheduled due to a conflict with the Academy Awards.)

icon by qafmaniacBecause Brian rejects its fabricated romantic heteronormativity, we in the Queer as Folk fandom have renamed "Valentine's Day." It is now, officially, "Justin's Magical Heart-Shaped Ass Day." It started with a discussion, then a poll, then a picspam, and we hear that [info]url_girl over on LJ made it a soundtrack... and well, with Kinnetik behind the campaign and everything, how could it go wrong?

[info]silentlywrecked has two new wallpapers at [info]qaf_art_dept; the current icon theme at [info]qaf_icons is The Loft -- there's still time to submit icons, and since I can't make icons, I let the theme inspire me to make a poll about the loft instead; Brian's magical penis is the new blue; icons from episode 410.

Xie, I am so sorry. I was the one hosting 101 this Sunday, but I forgot about the Oscars! I want to do it a week from this Sunday, unless people will hate me, then I'll do it tomorrow! I don't want to ruin everybody's fun!!!!
